Write for The Birding Life
The Birding Life welcomes blog articles from the birding community. If you enjoy writing about birds, birding, nature, or related topics, this is an opportunity to share your stories and insights with a wider audience.
Guest contributions are not paid, but they offer exposure to a large and engaged community of birders. Articles may also be shared through The Birding Life’s social media channels and other relevant platforms.
Along with the article, please include a short introduction about yourself written in the third person. This can briefly describe your background, birding interests, or current work. Please also include links to your social media accounts if you would like to promote them.
Articles should include at least one photograph or illustration. If you are struggling to find an image, we can assist.
Before submitting, please read the guidelines below.
Possible ideas for articles.
We give writers a lot of freedom when it comes to content that they submit. If it relates to birds or birding, it will often be suitable.
Some ideas:
-
Stories from memorable birding trips
-
Articles focused on bird species
-
Bird science and research
-
Conservation and environmental issues
-
Articles on birding destinations.
Although we do allow writers to use AI for editing, we will not accept articles created entirely by artificial intelligence.
Once your article is submitted, it will be reviewed and lightly edited if needed. The edited version will be shared with you for approval before it is published.
Please make sure that you have permission to use any images or material included in their article.
Authors retain ownership of their work. However, The Birding Life requests that the article remains exclusive to the site for 90 days after publication before being republished elsewhere.
It is acceptable to briefly mention a personal blog, project, or business in your author bio or within the article where relevant. However, the article should not read as advertising. Any promotional references should be subtle and secondary to the main content.
Please note that we retain the right to decide which articles will and will not be published on the website.
To submit an article, please get in touch and tell us a little about the article you would like to write. info@thebirdinglife.com
