INFORMATION FOR BIRDERS:
The View has a partnership with Ross Soller a local birding expert and guide. Ross guides in Marloth, around the town and in many different habitats, including private reserves. Birding from the deck and in the garden is good, especially in summer. We have bird books, binoculars and bird feeders and baths in the garden. We cater for birders by arranging guided day trips to the various nature reserves, private and public, and offering early or packed breakfasts and lunches. Raptors are often seen from the deck, and the garden is full of Sunbirds.
The View Swellendam is a beautiful, luxury Country House. It is set in large gardens at the foot of Marloth World Heritage Nature Reserve. The house has four beautifully appointed en-suite rooms, with a bar fridge, coffee station and Netflix. Accommodation is offered on a B&B basis, but braai facilities are available. For birders packed breakfasts and lunches are offered. There is a large outdoor deck, and lounge and dining room available. The swimming pool is wonderful in summer. Restaurants and museums are within walking distance.
