INFORMATION FOR BIRDERS:

Most birdwatchers come to Platbakkies to see the Red Lark as it is also endemic to our area. No guest was ever disappointed. We have so many Red Larks here! Guests are welcome to drive/wander freely on our 7000ha farm of which about 5000ha is sandy dunes with grass field and the other 2000ha is Namaqualand klipkoppe where the Cinnamon Breasted Warbler and Karoo Eremomela is often seen. We assist guests with advice of where birds have been spotted recently, etc. Here on Platbakkies we also have a special late breakfast option for birders who go out early to spend the best time of the day out looking for a specific bird.
