INFORMATION FOR BIRDERS:
Mountain Pastures, nestled in the De Hoop valley between the Kouga and Honniball mountains, is situated next to the popular R62 route, 18 kilometers from Uniondale. What makes Mountain Pastures special is the spectacular mountain views, peaceful atmosphere and variety of bird species. It is the ideal place to refresh body, mind and soul. While we have mainly 2 vegetation types (Succulent Karoo and Fynbos), we have a diversity of different habitats, namely mountains, plains, dams, perennial waterfall and gardens. Sunbirds are a spectacular sight when sitting on the flowers of Protea sp. and/or Aloe sp. At night various owl species can be heard.
