Situated in the tranquil Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, this well-appointed 8-sleeper self-catering lodge is conveniently located for the perfect combination of a bush break close to the Kruger National Park, The Blyde Canyon Panoramic Route as well as multiple other tourist hotspots. Igugu Lodge comprises of four en-suite bedrooms, 2 with showers and 2 with baths. A fully equipped kitchen, and open plan lounge and dining area. Lush gardens with outside braai facilities and an inviting pool to cool down on those hot lowveld days. Each room has air-conditioning as well as a ceiling fan and Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge. The lodge is equipped with an inverter and battery backup for added comfort during loadshedding or power cuts.

INFORMATION FOR BIRDERS

The 645ha estate affords guests the freedom to explore via a network of game drive routes as well as hiking/cycling trails. Three bird hides located at permanent water sources provide guests with additional birdwatching and photographic opportunities. The estate is home to plains game and a diverse number of bird species.

 

Igugu lodge has a garden which comprises of a tree gallery and is surrounded by natural acacia thickets which attracts abundant birdlife. Numerous typical bushveld birds can be seen from the comfort of the patio while guests get to wake up to the dawn chorus of the bushveld set amongst tranquil surroundings. The estate also plays host to a number of White-backed vulture nests on the property and it is a treat observe these raptors while also knowing they are well protected in the area.
