The Western Cape province boasts a range of truely unique habitats from the world renowned fynbos biome, to the Garden Route, Cape Peninsula, West Coast and the southern parts of the desolate Karoo. A good number of South Africa's true endemics can be found in this province and many of them feature in my top 10. Please note I have not included any pelagic birds, as I believe to do them justice a separate list would be needed for them. Ayway here is my list, let me know what you think, and please send me what your list would be.
.) African Penguin
.) Cape Sugarbird
.) Orange-breasted Sunbird
.) Cape Rockjumper
.) Hottentot Buttonquail
.) Protea Canary
.) Aghullas Long-billed Lark
.) Bank Cormorant
.) Cape Spurfowl
.) Cape Siskin

A big thank you to David Swanepoel for letting us use his photo of a Protea Canary.
