    My Afternoon of Raptors

I spent the weekend at a friend's lodge in Sedgefield and boy was I spoilt by the raptors.

One afternoon I saw two Jackal Buzzards circling over a veld while driving. Not 3km later I stopped at the picnic spot that overlooks Swartvlei on the N2 between Wilderness and Sedgefield, and there circling above me were three African Fish Eagles. Unfortunately, I have not mastered the art of photographing birds in flight yet so there were no decent photos.

Once I had my fill of that sighting I continued on my merry way, and once again I had to stop the car and pull over. There I saw a Booted Eagle soaring above. Then suddenly he dove straight down and disappeared into the valley. I could not believe the speed with which he dropped. And if that was not enough for an afternoon, sitting in the top of pine tree, I spotted a Forest Buzzard. My day was made.

The only photos I were able to capture were of the stationary Buzzard.
