Some photos that were taken this weekend alongside someone that was bird ringing (banding), at Cumberland Nature Reserve in KZN, with some observations that may help with LBJ identification.
- Rufous cap
- Plain back
- Fairly delicate bill
- Grey wash to bird (this does change in other areas)
- Short tail
- Streaked back
- Strong bill
This is something that is interesting - note the size difference between the Neddicky and the massive Croaking Cisticola.
This is by no means meant to be an intensive identification article, just a few points to help with cracking the LBJ code.
